About Mr. Chernoff:
Mr. Chernoff is a founding shareholder in the firm and practices in the areas of commercial litigation, business transactions, and personal injury matters. His commercial experience includes plaintiff, defense and transactional representation in the areas of contract, construction, real estate, shareholder, partnership, business sale, covenant not to compete and other business matters. Mr. Chernoff also represents plaintiffs with serious injuries, as well as plaintiffs in insurance coverage and malpractice matters.

Before founding the firm, Mr. Chernoff was the managing editor of the journal Corporate Conduct Quarterly, covering corporate governance, ethics and regulatory compliance. Mr. Chernoff also worked in various business positions and was a business consultant to small businesses in the former Soviet Republic of Moldova while serving in the United States Peace Corps.

Affiliations:
Mr. Chernoff is a member of the State Bar of Arizona and is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Valley of the Valley of the Sun Kiwanis Club, the Board of Directors of Hillel at Arizona State University, and sat on one of the Arizona Legislature's interim committees, the Arizona Fiscal Accountability Committee.

Representative Cases :

  • Successfully defended physician in lawsuit by a medical practice management company on the basis of management breaches and illegality of the company’s compensation scheme.
  • Represented partners in a substantial local accounting and technology consulting firm in connection with disputes related to the multi-million dollar sale of the practice.
  • Recovered full payment and all attorneys’ fees incurred due to a charter school's failure to pay for construction of facilities, and general representation of contractor client in contract preparation, lien preparation and enforcement, and general business matters.
  • Prepared contracts for third party administrator of workers' compensation benefits controlling relationships with employers, insurers and health care providers that form the basis for ongoing operations.
  • Represented business owner of an equipment manufacturing company and a construction company in partnership dispute resulting in substantial reorganization of assets and changes in ownership arrangements.
  • Recovered damages on behalf of individual with permanent lung damage secondary to chlorine gas exposure.
